I’m seeing a consistent trend among my Mastermind Consulting clients: they’re not asking their current networks to help them promote new business ventures.

Sure, ultimately it’s up to you to promote your latest projects on your own social networks, but we all have an inherent narrowness to our connections: we tend to include people in our networks that are most like ourselves, and miss out on those weak links that provide the strongest opportunities for new leads and a diverse perspective on your offerings. (Keith Ferrazzi recently shared a Harvard Business Review article on this very topic.)

Increase your success factor exponentially by doing one simple thing: ask your colleagues to share about your latest venture. Your news gets in front of people far beyond your own network. Facebook & LinkedIn make it easy with the Share link, Twitter has the retweet, and Pinterest has the repin. When sharing is as easy as one click, why not? All that’s missing is your request for help.

I’ll be releasing a new infographic on Pinterest in the coming weeks. My infographics have been shared worldwide, and I’ll definitely be offering the opportunity for my colleagues and those who have published my infographics previously to share this one. I plan on a simple email with my infographic blog post link, and a sample tweet/FB post to accompany it. I make it super easy: all people have to do is cut and paste.

I make it simple for my friends to help me.

Do you?
