So, first, what the heck is a swipe file? If you are not in the marketing field, swipe file is probably not something that you've heard of. It is basically your best of 2016. Anything that helped your business be successful in 2016 goes into your swipe file. It's basically a "best of," and it can be the best of a lot of different things. The best events you held, the best products you offered, the best social media posts you did, anything that contributed to your brand's success this year is something you want to include in this swipe file.

What was your best Facebook post? By best that's going to be different for different brands. You may define best by most engagement while some other brand may define it by more sales. So, identify how you define what your best Facebook post is and that's something that you'll want to include in your swipe file. What's your best website page? What's the most popular? What's your most popular email? Those are all the types of things that we're going to be including in this swipe file, and it will serve as the foundation for your brand for next year.

Everything that you're including in here will be a reminder to you going forward that this is what worked, and this is what you need to do more of in the coming year. Here is what you're going to do to build your own swipe file. You're going to measure the results that you got in 2016. What were your best of? Who was your most profitable client? What were your most profitable products and services? What were your best email campaigns? Your best Facebook posts? Your best twitter post? Anything like that. You're going to measure those results and I'm going to show you how to do that and make it really, really simple for you.

You're also going to open templates that I'm giving you here that you can use to document that data and then build your swipe file from those templates. So I'm going to make this really, really simple for you. The first thing that you want to do, and the first thing that I did when I was building my swipe file, was I needed to measure the results first. You won't be able to know what your best products, what your most profitable clients are, what your best Facebook posts are until you measure your results. So what I'm going to do is to review the lessons that we have on measurement and show you where those are and what you can measure.

You're going to go open the templates that you're going to get from me. That was one of the templates, that spread sheet is one of them. You're actually going to get three templates and I'm going to give you the link here in the webinar, but they're also going to be in each of these templates themselves. The first is that best of spread sheet that you can use in either Excel or Google and that's where you import your data into.

Once you've got that data then you're ready to start building your own swipe file, and I'm giving you a swipe file template in two different formats. The first one is in a presentation format, like a Power Point, like what I'm using year. It's in Google Slides, but you can use this with Power Point, or Keynote, or anything. It's a PPTX file which is Power Point. I'm also giving you an infographic, so that if you want to show your client, or if you want to keep track of everything on one page for your business you can do it on a one page infographic. It again is Google Slides.
