The first thing that you want to do when you create a landing page is design it. Now, this is a landing page that I created that is a single-focused landing page. Notice it does not have a menu, it does not have a footer. You can do only one thing here and that is enter your email to get a checklist on how to sell on Instagram and Pinterest, that's all you can do. My one focused goal here is to get the opt-in. Now, there are several things here that are really important for this design and I'm going to talk about those and also show you a landing page. This was not my first version of this landing page.

My first version did not look like this and it wasn't very successful. I'll show you what it looked like in just a minute. Notice here that this is all about learning how to sell out or how to sell on Instagram and Pinterest. This looks like Instagram and Pinterest. I've got the red button here because Pinterest's color scheme is red. I've got this beautiful floral bouquet which looks like something you would see on either Instagram or Pinterest so it has the look and feel of what I'm talking about. My first landing page did not. It was a plain landing page with no image and it got hardly any conversions, none.

I talk about learn how small businesses are selling out every day using Instagram and Pinterest, download your free checklist and I say, "Enter your email," and, "I want the checklist." Notice what I'm doing here. I tell people the benefit. They are going to learn how they can sell out or how they can sell on Instagram and Pinterest. They're going to get a checklist. Notice here I say, "Enter your best email," because most of us have more than one email and I want you to enter the one that you're really going to check. "Enter your best email," and notice this button does not say submit, it says, "I want the checklist."

You want your submit button to have text on it that people say yes to, "Yes, I want the checklist." Then down here, these are all what I call trust factors. I have my photo here so people know that I'm a real person. I have my name, my title, my company, and my logo and then I also have copyright in my privacy link which is required by law. You need to have a privacy link and have link to your privacy policy. If you're interested in getting a privacy policy, there are actually templated ones out there. You could even copy mine. Now, let me show you what this landing page look like when I first did it. Let's see here. Okay, this is basically what that landing page looked like. Now, this is a different landing page but that Instagram and Pinterest landing page look like this but without the image.

There was nothing on that landing page that looked like Instagram or Pinterest and it just didn't work. It didn't look like Instagram or Pinterest. Now, this is a template and I think all I had to do was upload. Actually I think I created this one from scratch. This is a format that I really like, it's very simple. There are other templates that you can use and I'll show you some of the landing pages later that I've used templates with. This one I created from scratch but it was all drag and drop. It was put the photo here, drag the text here, add the button. Let's talk about what you need in order to do this. You need a landing page creation tool which I'm going to talk about in a minute. You don't necessarily have to have a website.

You have to have the image and you have to have either an email marketing tool or if you're doing sales, you have to have some payment processor. You have to have those things in place. If you don't need a landing page, you can just do this on Facebook. You could just say, if you were the massage therapist you could say, "75% off your first massage." You could say, "Call me now or message me on Facebook," and have a message button or click to call. It could be that easy and that could be on your Facebook.
